Supplier Portal Opens For Crosbie Wind Farm

Local businesses across Ayrshire are being encouraged to register their interest in the commercial opportunities that would arise from the approval of plans for Crosbie Wind Farm. The developers have started to receive expressions of interest, and are keen that the process is formalised, yet made as straightforward as possible for local potential suppliers and contractors.

The proposed development is expected to deliver significant commercial benefit to the region, arising out of the construction and operation of the project which would consist of 14 turbines and would be located between Fairlie, West Kilbride and Dalry.

The team behind the proposals, led by Galileo Empower’s Senior Project Manager Laura Petrie, are keen that local and regional businesses big and small are in touch with the project team directly and kept up to date with commercial opportunities as they emerge. The supplier registration portal is now open at https://wkf.ms/4glZcQW.

“We are nearing a significant moment for the project, after 18 months of extensive community consultation we are preparing to submit our planning application to the Scottish Government. As we approach this milestone, it is timely for us to begin structured dialogues with local businesses who may be able to benefit from the commercial opportunities that would become available should the project receive planning consent.

“We have always said that our aim was to be a good neighbour, and with that ambition comes a responsibility to ensure that every local business has the opportunity to become involved.
We are committed to developing Crosbie Wind Farm in a way that benefits the surrounding communities and supports the green energy and skills transition in North Ayrshire, and opening our potential supplier portal is one of the key ways we can deliver on that commitment.”

Claire Baird, CEO of Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, is encouraging local businesses who may be able to contribute to the project to sign up to the portal.

"We are pleased to hear the supplier portal for the proposed Crosbie Wind Farm has opened, giving contractors and suppliers from across Ayrshire the opportunity to contribute to the development of this new site. The Chamber encourages eligible members to sign-up through the Crosbie Wind Farm supplier portal, and be part of driving the Ayrshire region towards a more sustainable future."

The developer behind the Crosbie Wind Farm proposal, Galileo, have held three rounds of community engagement events for the project and spoken to hundreds of local people, as well as having an open dialogue with community and local political representatives. As a result of this engagement, the design for the project has undergone a number of iterations, with the final design ready to be submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit in early 2025.
