Community invited to have its say on Crosbie wind farm proposal
New wind farm proposal between Fairlie, West Kilbride and Dalry to exhibit early-stage plans in community engagement events.
Residents in West Kilbride, Fairlie, Ardrossan, Dalry and Millport are being invited to provide feedback on a newly-proposed renewable energy development, Crosbie Wind Farm, at a series of community engagement events.
The Scottish renewable energy developer, Galileo Empower, is exploring the potential for an onshore renewable energy development in the local area which, if approved, would deliver in the region of £390,000 in community benefit annually in addition to community ownership options.
Having met community representatives at a series of engagement meetings in September, the Crosbie Wind Farm project team are now in a position to share an initial design proposal with the community at the upcoming engagement events, taking place as follows:
Monday 20 November – 4pm-8pm,
St Margaret Avenue, Dalry, KA24 4BA
Tuesday 21 November
- 10am-2pm, Whitlees Community Centre,
Carrick Place, Ardrossan, KA22 7DT - 4pm-7pm, West Kilbride Village Hall,
1 Arthur Street, West Kilbride, KA23 9EN
Wednesday 22 November
- 10am-1pm, Millport Development Association Hall,
The Garrison, Millport KA28 0DG - 3pm-7pm, Fairlie Village Hall,
Main Road, Fairlie, Largs, KA29 0AD
The events will display details of the proposed site layout for up to 13 turbines, visualisations of how the wind farm could look from various different viewpoints, and information on Galileo Empower’s proposed community benefit and community ownership offer – with the community invited to provide their feedback and help to shape the proposal.
More information on the early-stage proposal, and how to keep in touch with the Galileo Empower team, can be found online at www.crosbiewindfarm.co.uk.

Laura Petrie, Senior Project Manager at GalileoI am pleased that we are now able to share our early-stage proposal with the local community and we encourage local people to come along to these upcoming events to discuss the proposals for the wind farm and the associated community benefits. Taking on board community feedback is a key part of our approach to the project, and will be vital as we progress our plans for Crosbie Wind Farm.”
